Shannon shoots exclusively on-location. Outdoor shoots are highly recommended, offering an abundance of natural light and interesting and colorful backdrops. Sessions generally last an hour.

Newborn sessions are done during the first two weeks of life, as this is when newborns are most sleepy. Newborn sessions can be done in your home to accomodate baby and recovering mother. If your home is lacking natural light, arrangements will be made for an alternate location agreeable to you and Shannon. Newborn sessions generally last two hours, though additional time may be needed if baby needs to be fed during the session.

Maternity photos are best captured between 30-37 weeks, when Mommy-to-be’s belly is nice and round. Maternity sessions are centered around Mommy-to-be, but spouses and siblings are welcome and encouraged to take part.

What to Wear

  • Wear something you feel comfortable in! You’ll want to feel at ease during the shoot to capture YOU at your best.
  • Don’t be afraid of COLOR! Bright, fun colors will enhance your photographs.
  • When being photographed with more than one person, you’ll want to coordinate, not match! It’s more visually appealing to wear versions of the same color, or colors that complement each other, rather than wear identical ensembles.
  • When choosing your outfits, keep in mind where in your home you will be displaying the photos. You’ll
want to wear colors that complement and enhance the décor of that room, rather than clash with it.
