I am way behind on blogging seeing as how this sweet couple's little girl has already been born and photographed (by me!). Alas, I am finally getting around to showing some images from this beautiful, snowy, maternity session. It was a surprisingly mild day considering the amount of snow on the ground and these two were such troppers, especially Jillian! I kind of made them walk through knee high snow on and off for an hour... whoops! They didn't complain one bit and were totally up for the challenge (believe me, it was a challenge!!) I love the way the session turned out and am so glad I got to meet these two.

This little gal was such a beauty. Perfect little features and the best nose I have ever seen on a newborn! Seriously sweet. She also arrived right on her due date so she gets points for being punctual! I loved spending time snuggling her and chatting with her parents about their first week as a family of 3. Ok, enough talking... check out this cutie!

This sweet newborn session is the follow up to the Fresh 48 I posted last week. Miss Taylor was such a good girl for me, although she resisted sleep for a little bit. But once she was asleep, she was out cold for the remainder of the session! And big sister was such a good girl as well! I loved spending time with this family again and so happy to capture such a wonderful time in their lives.

Another Fresh 48 in the books! I simply love visiting families in the hospital to capture the moments following the birth of their baby. I have been photographing this family since big sister Avery was 8 or 9 months old, so being there to capture and bear witness to these intimate moments was that much more special. It was wonderful that the grandparents were there as well, I'm sure Taylor will be happy one day to have a photo of them holding her on her first day of life. I'm photographing Taylor's newborn session next so stay tuned for those images!

One of my oldest friends got engaged over the holidays and asked me to take their engagement photos, which I was more than happy to do! It was such an honor to capture such a special time for these two and it filled me with such joy seeing my childhood bestie as happy as I've ever seen her. Aren't they a lovely couple? I just love the urban backdrop. These two will be tying the knot this Summer and I cannot wait to celebrate with them! Love you guys! 

I keep saying it, but I swear, Fresh 48's are quickly becoming my favorite sessions to shoot. Can't you just feel the love and joy coming from this family while they are snuggling their new addition? January is such an unpredictable month to shoot outdoors, so when this gorgeous mama-to-be contacted me for her maternity session, I wasn't sure what to expect. We got so lucky! It was overcast, however it was not terribly frigid and there was absolutely no wind. We flew through the session and I'm just loving the results! I also worked with them on styling their wardrobe for the session and I think they coordinated just perfectly! I love the wine color that flows through each of their outfits. It adds just enough pop and is lovely for warming up a winter session. 

I can't believe there are only hours left of 2014! I loved working with so many families over the past year. It was wonderful seeing so many families again and meeting new ones as well. This job is so rewarding and it's all because of my amazing clients. All so beautiful, both on the inside and out.

What a wonderful way to end 2014! Sweet Mia was 7 days old and such a wonderful little sleeper! She barely stirred during the entire session. Even Mom took a little snooze while I worked with Mia! Nothing makes me happier than having a new Mom relaxed enough during a newborn session that she just konks out! It was wonderful. This family is very special and I wish them all the best in this new chapter of their lives. 

It was a chilly but beautiful day for our session. Not only we were doing annual family portraits (and Christmas card photos) but we were also documenting this sweet family's remaining time with their sick pup. I loved how their dog was such an important part of the session. Truly a member of the family! So glad to see this family again and close out my outdoor sessions for the year with them!
