Areti + Giovanni

I had such a ball with these two! Areti has just finished the 1st trimester of her pregnancy, so this session was a hybrid pregnancy announcement/maternity session. The session took place a few weeks ago but I've been keeping the blog under wraps until Areti made her official announcement :) They were so sweet and adorable and the backdrop of the snow was the perfect touch for a wintry feel for the session.

New for 2015 | Fresh 48

I have been thinking about this kind of session for a while. There is something so incredibly special and fleeting about capturing a newborn baby while they are still fresh from birth, wrapped in that familiar blanket and wearing that sweet little hat that ends up in their baby books. I have been so drawn to this type of newborn photography, that I just knew it I had to add it to SBP!

It's so hard to believe it's been 5 months since Mackenzie's newborn session. It was so great to see her and her lovely parents for a holiday session! They were dressed so festive :) Especially little Mackenzie with her plaid bow - adorable! I always have fun with these guys... can't wait to see them again!

Who would have thought that Thanksgiving weekend we would be shooting in the snow?! Certainly not me! But I love how the images from this session came out. Such a wintry feel and perfect for Christmas :) Little Avery wasn't thrilled with the frigid temps and cold, wet snow (I don't really blame her!) so we had to blaze through at lightning speed. She's lucky she's so darn cute! :) I just love seeing this family and getting to watch Avery grow. Can't wait to see them again in January for a matenrity session - Avery is going to be a big sister!

What can I say about this family? Mom is my oldest friend - going back to when we were teeny tiny. We lived just a few blocks from each other growing up, and now live two blocks from each other in a completely different town. Though our oldest babies are just 3 years old, they are growing up together much like we did and our little ones are following suit. It is truly a gift to be able to capture my best friend's babies and stop time just for a bit. It doesn't hurt that they are pretty much picture perfect :) Love you guys!!

Gosh we have had a real cold streak over here in NJ! These sweet sisters were definitely on the right track with their adorable winter hats. We had to take a few breaks during the session to go inside and warm up - and I think it did the trick because each time the girls emerged with smiles on their faces. Such a beautiful family!

I was so excited for this session! Mom's sister is one of my oldest friends, so we have known each other a loooong time. Her 8 month old little girl was one of the happiest babies I have ever encountered - smiling and laughing the whole time despite the frigid 20 degree temps. Such a beautiful family!

This family was so much fun! Mom and my husband are friends from college, so it was fun hearing some stories of their college days during our session. Their sweet baby boy is just 3 months old and was such a trooper being that it was such a chilly day. Mom and Dad came well prepared and bundled him up so he was able to get through the session happily. Plus they gave him lots of snuggles to keep him warm :) So glad I got a chance to spend time with these guys!

We had such a beautiful day for our session! Sandwiched in-between two super cold days, I was a little worried, but it ended up being warmer than anticipated and bright and sunny! This family is very special to me - their son was the very first newborn I ever photographed - and now look at him! Almost two years old and as cute as a button. Time sure flies!

I think we had the coldest afternoon ever for our session, but this adorable family didn't seem to mind. Even 10 month old Benjamin was calm and collected through the freezing wind gusts! I love so many of the images from this session, especially as the sun began to go down. So many sweet snuggles. I can't wait for the warmer weather (yes, I'm ALREADY dreaming about Spring...) and sunset sessions. But first...Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years... haha!
